The Office of International Programs is running a photo contest for students that studied abroad in 2013. Whether they participated in a short-term, semester, or year-long program, we asked students to share their experiences. Check out this years photo contest entries!
This is a view of San Gimignano from the top of a hill when the group was on its way to Rosia, you can see the walls and towers of the town in the distance. San Gimignano was the first stop in our trip that I started to realize I was falling in love with Italy. In the mornings, I would take walks around the town and watch the locals go about their morning routines and I started to gain confidence that I could go on my own to explore. The town, the shops, the people, especially those where we stayed were so welcoming and San Gimignano felt like a home away from home in a way. There the pilgrims really bonded and got to know each other, barriers were broken down between students and adults as we shared our stories that made us who we are.
