Two Girard Students Recognized by Financial Executives International
The Boston chapter of Financial Executives International (FEI) – an organization of senior-level finance executives – honored two Girard School of Business students at their annual academic awards ceremony on Wednesday, April 23rd, 2014.
Vince Bellino ’15, was selected as a scholarship recipient, an honor given to recognize students on the basis of academic performance, business experience, extracurricular activities, and leadership. Finance professor and faculty sponsor Ana Silva describes Bellino, “Vince is well-rounded. He’s a strong student with an impressive resume and great experiences.”
Of senior Anthony Capobianco ’14, who received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award, Silva says, “Anthony is very bright but incredibly humble.” He was nominated by Girard faculty based on his having earned the highest grade point average among finance seniors and his contributions to the school as an accounting tutor.
Capobianco and Bellino, along with students from Babson, Bentley, Boston College, Northeastern University, and other Boston-area schools, received their awards at a reception and dinner held at the Newton Marriott Hotel. The keynote speaker for the evening was Roger Brown, President of the Berklee College of Music. For Silva though, the stars of the night were the students. “They were an impressive group. It was incredible to hear about the great work these students have already accomplished in their very short careers.”
Similar sentiments were echoed by Paul McDonough, an FEI member and Vice President of Operations at Forsyth Institute, “Anthony and Vince are solid students and wonderful ambassadors of Merrimack College.”
