10 Named to French Honor Society

Ten Merrimack students were inducted into Pi Delta Phi, the French National Honor Society, on April 25, 2014. Casey Chapman ’14, William Morgan ’15, Kiara Huntress ’15, Katherine William Taylor ’16, Amanda Brodeur ’16, Christine Hayek ’14, Alyssa Walker ’14, James Shand ’15 and Christine Peloquin ’15 were welcomed into the honor society and Jocelyn Cordell ’12 (Merrimack alum) was admitted as an honorary member.
Merrimack professor Dr. Sylvie Pressman presided over the induction ceremony, which included French poetry and French songs.
The purpose of the Society is to recognize outstanding scholarship in the French language and its literatures. To be admitted, Pi Delta Phi members must have completed at least one course in upper-level French and maintain a GPA of 3.0 in the subject, 3.0 overall, and rank in the top third of their class.
