3 Students Present Papers at NEUSRC
Three Criminology majors presented papers at the 38th New England Undergraduate Sociology Research Conference (NEUSRC) this weekend.
Pat Lawlor (‘13), who is the Associated Editor-in-Chief of the Merrimack Beacon, presented his research from a directed study he is taking this semester with Dr. Hayden. The paper was entitled “Covering Campus Crime,” and drew on his interest in student journalism and criminology.
Mary Paris (‘13) presented a paper entitled “Prison Rape: Inmate Code, Structure, and Social Hierarchy.” The paper was written last semester for Dr. Aiello’s Sociology of Incarceration class.
Michael Taddei (‘14) presented his paper, “Smarter Policing and the Decrease in Crime During the Recession.” His research expands on his final paper for Dr. Hayden’s Criminology class last semester.

Dr. Aiello and Dr. McQueeney presented papers at the 2013 annual meeting of the Eastern Sociological Society (ESS).
Merrimack College has partnered with The Eagle Tribune to present the 2012-2013 Merrimack Valley Leadership Series. The next speaker in the series will be Sir Ken Robinson, who is an internationally recognized leader in the development of education, creativity, and innovation.
