Business Students are Inducted into Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor Society

April 02, 2015
Sigma Iota Epsilon, the national honorary and professional management fraternity, has recognized 94 Girard School of Business students for their academic excellence

On March 29th, 94 students were inducted into the Girard School of Business’ Sigma Iota Epsilon (SIE) chapter at a ceremony in the Rogers Center.  The students – sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students – and their parents attended the ceremony and a reception that was held in the Sakowich Center.

This year’s inductees included 12 seniors, 34 juniors, 29 sophomores, and 19 graduate students.  To be honored, undergraduates must have at least a 3.25 GPA, graduate students a 3.5.  Additional special awards were given:

SIE Continued Excellence Award

Recipients: Andrew Fournier, Keaira Perry, Carlene Sullivan, Samuel Velonis

This award is in recognition of those who have earned a membership in SIE during their undergraduate studies, joined Merrimack’s graduate program, and continued to excel at the graduate level by maintaining the minimum graduate GPA required by SIE.

Philip Lee Memorial Award

Recipient: Leann Mitrano

This award is given to the Finance senior with the highest ranking GPA.

Frederick W. Taylor Award

Recipient: Sean Robertson

This award is given to the Management senior with the highest ranking GPA.

SIE’s mission is two-fold: to encourage and recognize scholastic excellence and to promote cooperation between the academic and practical aspects of management.
