Capstone project impacts Honors Living Learning Community
As a Fellow in the Higher Education Fellowship program at Merrimack, Ms. Cappuccio helped to design the Honors House, a living learning community (LLC) for Merrimack’s honors program students.
In order to better understand the benefits of LLCs and the needs of our students, Ms. Cappuccio designed her capstone project in a way that allowed her to research LLCs and how they link student learning with co-curricular activities. In conjunction with academic research, Ms. Cappuccio also conducted a needs assessment of Merrimack College’s current honors students which targeted content areas such as academic programming, community building, social programming, and honors mentoring.
In addition to this work, Ms. Cappuccio also sat in on the Conduct Board at Merrimack College, volunteered as the Center for Leadership and Engagement Intern at Middlesex Community College, and served as a Graduate Associate for the National Association of Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education (NASPA).
Merrimack is introducing several new master’s degree programs to enrich its educational offerings this fall. Applications are now being accepted.
