Students and Alums Connect through Girard School Networking Events

March 28, 2016
The Girard School offered a series of events this spring to enable students to network and connect with alums and other local business professionals.

The first set of events held this spring were part of the Girard School Networking Series. The Networking Series is designed to connect students in specific concentrations, in this case Sport Management and Marketing, with professionals working in those fields. The professionals took time to describe their backgrounds and personal career paths, offer advice, and answer questions about their industry and the companies where they work. Held during breakfast, the Networking Series required students to move around several times during the two-hour event in order to maximize the number of professionals they had a chance to meet.

The Executive Development Event was held in the evening and offered students in the Masters of Science in Management and Accounting programs the chance to sharpen their skills in interviewing and networking. As part of the event, the professionals conducted a series of mock interviews and offered constructive feedback to the students. The evening ended with a reception to give students and professionals the opportunity to network in a casual setting.
