Students study behavior of silver nanoparticles

July 10, 2017
Joe Colbert ’18, a biology and environmental studies major from Dover, New Hampshire, and Trevor Donnelly ’17, a biology major from Andover, Massachusetts were on the second floor of Mendel Center assisting Biology Department assistant professor Azam Noori’s in her research earlier in July.

Dr. Noori is studying the impact of silver nanoparticles on plants’ physiological and molecular responses, using tomoato plants.  “Understanding plants’ responses to nanoparticles will help plant scientists and environmentalists protect agricultural crops and the environment at large, as well as human health, since nanoparticles can enter a person’s body through the food chain”, Noori said.
