Merrimack Celebrates Donors with “An Evening of Gratitude”

More than 300 guests gathered on September 14 for Merrimack College's annual “Evening of Gratitude,” an event recognizing the generous and loyal donors to the College. President Christopher E. Hopey, Ph.D. used the opportunity to report that the Together for Good Campaign—the largest fundraising effort in Merrimack's history, with a goal of $50 million—has now raised more than $42 million in total, including approximately $14 million since its public launch last fall.

“Your generosity not only helps today’s Merrimack students, but also builds the reputation and legacy of our alumni and makes the future so much brighter for students yet to come,” said President Hopey, as he addressed an audience of donors, trustees, faculty, staff, and students. “We are grateful every day of every year for what you provide to this institution. This ceremony demonstrates how much Merrimack holds your love and support in the highest esteem. We share our gratitude and proclaim it to the world.”

The evening included a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the official opening of Crowe Hall, new home to the Girard School of Business. The building is named after Chairman of the Merrimack Board of Trustees Michael Crowe ’92, H’17 and his wife Kerridan P’17, who provided the largest Together for Good Campaign gift to date. In addition, Michael Crowe and fellow donor Frank Girard ’62, H’16 were honored as the inaugural members of Merrimack’s Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame.
