Work forged ahead at the Student Residences Project over Spring Break and the Easter holiday. The drywall continued in Buildings 1B and 1C. Electricians finished pulling wires in Building 2 and await the completion of window installation on Building 1A to move on. The plumbers and sprinkler contractors continued their work in Building 1A while windows and Tyvek (an exterior house wrap used to protect against water and weather damage) were installed on the exterior. Major milestones accomplished were framing the entire first floor of the final building and finishing the masonry on the first building.
The construction team took advantage of the quiet campus by installing underground utilities, grading and paving the new sidewalk along Walsh Way. MEP contractors focused their manpower on Building 1A now that it is watertight. The siding process has begun on Building 1B, and the framers constructed the top two floors of Building 3 and have roof trusses delivered.
