Teaching

Thomas Anderson teaches courses on World History, including the environment and the Indian Ocean, as well as classes on Ottoman and Middle East history.

Research

His research focuses on global and environmental histories, particularly on how explorers and naturalists exchanged knowledge about the natural world. His latest project is on the environmental history of Madagascar.
