Ashrafur Rahman joined Merrimack College in fall 2017. He previously worked for a civil-engineering firm in Boston; taught at Bucknell University, University of Hartford and Stamford University Bangladesh; and worked as a transportation engineer at the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

Rahman’s teaching interests include highway design, traffic engineering and transportation planning.
Rahman’s research interests are in mathematical and stochastic modeling of transportation network, routing of hazardous materials, network vulnerability and traffic operations.
