Maureen W. Sakakeeny

Maureen (Walsh) Sakakeeny is a registered Professional Civil Engineer and Sustainability Professional with prior experience in both engineering consulting and higher educational administration (at Tufts University). She joined the Dean’s staff in 2014.
Ms. Sakakeeny’s focus is on student recruitment and retention in the School of Science and Engineering. She supports the Dean on graduate programs, first-year programs including the iTEC NSF grant program, and marketing and promotion of the School. She serves as a liaison to various on campus and off campus offices and industry contacts.
She holds multiple professional certifications and serves on a number of professional committees and boards. She is a co-owner of SAK Environmental LLC, a small, environmental engineering consulting firm in North Andover, MA.

Ms. Sakakeeny’s engineering experience includes environmental planning and permitting, civil and transportation engineering design, and construction management on a variety of infrastructure projects in the Northeast. She has been a Project Engineer, Project Manager, and Principal Engineer at several Boston-area consulting firms. She also served for eight years on the Dean’s Leadership Team as the Director of External Relations for the School of Engineering at Tufts University.
