Research Summary

I am a certified family nurse practitioner with more than 20 years of advanced nursing practice working in acute-, community- and emergency/urgent-care settings. My research focuses on health literacy, health education and the relationship of these variables to patient health outcomes. Current research activities include interdisciplinary community engagement and health educational program development with the Merrimack Valley Area Health Education Center and the Greater Lawrence Family Health Center. Due to my extensive clinical expertise, I was appointed Director of Covid-19 Campus Surveillance and Interim Director of Campus Health Services for the 2020-2021 academic year.
