Management

Alexa Palmisano

Major/concentration: Business Administration, Management

Hometown: Salem, NH

Plans after graduation and long-term career aspirations: I’m a professional makeup artist. I am applying to different jobs in New York City for fashion magazines such as Cosmo and Elle. I want to work in the fashion/beauty industry and work as a makeup artist for runway shows, etc. Eventually I want to own my own makeup company and have my own line of makeup.

Why did you choose your major? I chose my major to learn how to work with people and mange business situations because I plan on owning my own business someday.

What was your favorite class in the Girard School? My favorite class was definitely Sustainable Business with Dr. Jane Parent. I learned a ton of new and valuable information about things I’m passionate about as well as ideas that I could realistically apply to my every day life and business.

Have you found someone in the Girard School to be particularly helpful as you make important decisions about courses or your career? Jane Parent. I absolutely love her! She was my advisor and by far my favorite professor. Dr. Parent is easy to talk to and relates to the students. She has a great way of telling you things straight and really helped me! She even bought me a cake last semester when she found out I was graduating early.

Tell us something interesting about you. An interesting fact about me… Hmm? I am trained in special effects makeup so I can makeup someone into a zombie or any other type of character. I am also a yoga fanatic!
