Major/concentration: Business Administration, Marketing
Hometown: Billerica, MA
Plans after graduation and long-term career aspirations: I plan to work at an advertising firm where I can ultimately find a job I am passionate about and to one day have an impact on the marketing industry.
Why did you choose your major? I believe marketing is revolved around a certain type of mindset and personality. One has to be very creative and open-minded. I believe that I have these characteristics, so I decided this would be the perfect fit for me.
What was your favorite class in the Girard School? My favorite class was Marketing Research with retired Professor Comegys. It was a very tough class but it allowed me to understand the motives of marketing and how to truly measure success within the industry. We became very familiar with marketing plans but never truly understood the impact of them until we took this class.
Have you found someone in the Girard School to be particularly helpful as you make important decisions about courses or your career? Marketing Professor Maria Sannella has been the biggest help to me on my marketing journey. She has given me the confidence that has brought me to where I am now. She has pointed me in the right direction with internships and is always there to give any other advice I need.
What activities outside the classroom have contributed to your overall success? I have been part of the Track and Field team as well as had multiple internships. With help from my Professors and Business Career Specialist Joe Jenkins, I will be doing an internship at Hill Holiday this semester. All of these activities have helped shape me into a better student.
Tell us something interesting about you. I started at Merrimack as a Sports Medicine major. I’m glad I changed my mind.
