O’Brien Center for Career Development

Katie received her M.A.T. in Social Studies from the University of South Florida and her BS in Child Development and School Psychology from Florida State University. Prior to joining the O’Brien Center for Career Development, Katie’s professional experience includes the Office of Career Services at Harvard University and educational research & teaching history and geography to 7th and 8th grade students in Hillsborough County, FL. Her research areas include cultural competency & diversity training and education among K-12 educators, college access & equity, and first-generation students in higher education settings. 

Katie joins the O’Brien Center for Career Development as a career advisor, working with students from the School of Liberal Arts. As someone who has personally & professionally explored how majors, interests, and skills can intersect in a variety of ways, Katie enjoys empowering students to broaden their experiences and deepen their knowledge of career paths, during and after college.
