Department of Electrical Engineering

Chris Stanwyck

Class 2011
Electrical Engineering Major, Computer Engineering Minor

Christopher Stanwyck plans to graduate from Merrimack College in 2011 with a major in electrical engineering and a minor in computer engineering. He came to Merrimack after graduating Chelmsford High School in Chelmsford, Massachusetts. He chose Merrimack College because he likes the good student to faculty ratio, smaller classes, and the cross country running team of which he is now a member.

Christopher has always been interested in computers and electronics and likes to put things together and figure them out. He built his first computer from parts when he was 13. He is especially interested in the hardware aspects of a computer. His favorite courses so far are Embedded Processor Design, Computer Architecture, and Digital Fundamentals.

All of these courses have already helped him in his recent internship at Mercury Computer where he plans to do a coop at the end of 2010. When he graduates, he hopes to find a position doing high tech hardware design for performance computing.

In addition to his studies, he also enjoys playing the guitar and running. He is also an active member in the Merrimack College IEEE club and tutors other students in both EE and Math.
