ABOUT[IT worker]

The IT Internship is a four-semester program run by the Merrimack College Computer Science Department for majors in Information Technology. All majors must complete four semesters of the IT Internship, typically during their first four semesters at Merrimack College.

The purpose of the internship is to give IT majors hands-on experience with professional IT duties, particularly in those areas that typically offer entry-level positions to those interested in IT. The internship entails four hours per week and offers one credit each semester, equalling one course by the completion of the final semester.

Ideally, those completing the required two years will be interested in continuing to work for the IT department as a paid employee during their final years at Merrimack.

The IT Internship, like all internships, is graded. You receive a final grade for each semester based on:

Because the Internship brings only a single credit for each semester, each grade has only 1/4 of the weight of a four-credit course.
