In my first programming class, on the first day, a classmate turned to me and asked,"What are you doing here? Everyone knows that girls can't program computers." This was the first and last time someone directly challenged my right to follow an interest that became a passion that became a career and a teaching vocation.

This site is under construction. I only just realized that it has been offline for two years and I hope to remedy that quickly. I do not like this color scheme yet at all, but content is more important than window dressing.
