More major milestones reached
At the ice rink expansion, all of the HVAC rooftop equipment was delivered and placed on the roof this week as well as the refrigeration skid package that was delivered and fit into its room just outside the rink area. Concrete trucks and a concrete pump occupied most of the new ice rink area as another concrete slab was placed which included the rest of the lobby area, handicap ramp and a few locker rooms. Plans were finalized this week and the eager construction team jumped at the opportunity to begin work on the locker rooms and mezzanine area, which will run along one side of the existing rink. Electricians, roofers, plumbers and framers continued their work this week as well.
The Residence Project was very busy with activity this week as well between the rain and high winds. The small site now averages about 80 contractors on site per day, all working alongside numerous pieces of excavation equipment, cranes and boom lifts. Now that the foundation has begun for Building 3, there are contractors working on all 5 buildings. Building 1B is now water tight (roofing, windows, and building wrap), which will allow for the electrician to being pulling wire. The roofers have moved on to Building 1C and the windows will begin going in next week. The two framing crews are competing to complete Building 2 and Building 1A while the concrete contractor is bringing Building 3’s foundation up out of the ground. Site activity will continue onsite on a smaller scale.
