10:30 – 11:30 For Hire: International Students - Dr. Lauren G. Bent

Dr. Lauren G. Bent is the Director of International Programs at Merrimack College, where she oversees study abroad and international student affairs and serves as a tri-chair for an Internationalization Laboratory through the American Council on Education. Prior to working at Merrimack College, Lauren worked at Boston College as a study abroad advisor and resident director for the B.C. in Madrid program. Her research areas include: engaging and raising funds from young alumni; maximizing learning in short-term study abroad programs; and designing strategies to promote international student success. Lauren holds an Ed.D. in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University, a M.A. in Higher Education Administration from Boston College, and a B.A. in Human Development and Hispanic Studies from Boston College.

Internship programs provide the answers to some of businesses’ most challenging issues including increasing labor costs, gaining fresh perspectives, and even discovering future business leaders.
