A part of being a part of a profession is being engaged in that profession. Being engaged in your profession requires participating in professional organizations. At least 70% of the jobs filled are not published or posted publicly. These organizations serve as a great tool to network. Become and member at a low student rate and look into going to the organization’s events, locally or nationally. It’s also a good place to look for employment opportunities, as some of them have job boards.
