- Graduate Ambassador, M.A., Communication
Merrimack College graduate student Lara Guvelioglu is earning her Master of Arts in Communication while working as a Fellow in the Office of the Dean of Students.
Lara, a native of Istanbul, Turkey, moved to the United States when she was 15 to attend Phillips Academy in Andover as a boarder and student-athlete. While being a student at Phillips Academy, Lara served as the Co-President of the Head Tour Guide Board of PA’s Admissions Office. She worked on a unique marketing project with the admissions board as her senior project, which sparked her future in marketing and communications. Lara is a 2020 graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication, where she completed her B.S. in Communications, with a concentration in Public Relations. During her undergrad years, Lara was a full-time student-athlete on the Varsity Women’s Rowing Team and worked as a Marketing and Communications intern for Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians and Lead Marketing Intern for Boston University Athletics. Upon graduating from Boston University in May 2020, Lara joined ZAAZEY, a Boston-based olive oil company. She served as the Marketing and Communications Executive before deciding to pursue her Masters in Communication at Merrimack. On-campus, Lara is the Treasurer of the Merrimack College Graduate Student Senate, a member of the Student Conduct Board, and a Graduate Ambassador for the Admissions Office. When she is not in class or involved with on-campus organizations, Lara enjoys spending time with her Newfoundland Puck, going on runs, and watching and playing hockey. She is also a very talented baker and loves working on DIY crafts.
