Merrimack Alerts

Campuswide alerts, including weather-related information, for Merrimack College.

Tuesday, December 3, 2019

Due to the ongoing snowstorm, all day classes are canceled on Tuesday, December 3. Administrative offices will be closed. All classes scheduled to begin at or after 4 p.m. will resume as scheduled. Employees should use their best judgment when driving to campus and should check in with their managers to ensure proper staffing.

Essential personnel will be notified by their supervisors about reporting to work, so the College can maintain services for students still on campus.

The annual Celebration of Light and Hope will continue as planned at 5:15 p.m. in the atrium of the Rogers Center for the Arts. After several days indoors, we encourage faculty, staff, students and their families to join us for food, drink, horse-drawn carriage rides and more!

Sparky’s, Dunkin’ Donuts and the Warriors Den will remain open for normal operations, as will McQuade Library and the Fitness Center. The Warrior Shuttle will keep to a normal schedule as weather permits; we will update the community should that change.

Important: Resident students should be in their approved assigned parking spots, or off-campus, and should monitor email for potential instructions about moving vehicles to allow for snow clearing tomorrow, Tuesday. Any employees or contractors on campus should park in Lot M located next to Duane Stadium and Martone-Mejail Field.

In the event some or all of campus experiences a loss of electricity:

  1. All residence halls will always have functioning life safety systems and emergency lighting.
  2. The Sakowich Campus Center will be open 24 hours with full power. Meal service will not be interrupted.
  3. Online systems, including Blackboard and MyMack, should experience no interruption of service.
  4. Residence life staff will be on duty to answer any and all questions.

Remember to keep phones and other devices charged.

Students should exercise caution and limit walking or driving on or near campus. Inclement weather can hamper the sightlines of drivers and plow operators. As always, avoid any downed power lines.

We will keep the campus informed of all major developments.

In an emergency, please call Merrimack police at 978-837-5911, or local police at 911. In the event of a power outage, Merrimack police can be reached at 978-686-4793 or 978-686-6594.
