Position Overview: The part-time Accommodation Assistant and Success Coach assists the Accessibility Services Office by assisting students registered with documented disabilities with utilizing technology for accommodation support (alternative format textbooks, using blackboard to access materials, using iPad and notability, and the Accommodate software). This position will oversee the Alternative Format Textbook request process to provide students with their text materials and will aide faculty in making generic course materials accessible for student devices and captioning videos as needed while maintaining up-to-date knowledge on accessible media, universal design and assistive technology in the university and legal proceedings. Additionally, this team member will provide as needed, advising and coaching to students registered with disabilities, including organization/study skills, advocacy, and referrals needed for academic success and attend staff meetings and assist in office tasks as needed, including managing the general email box, proctoring the Testing Center, maintaining records, and other tasks as assigned by the Assistant Director or Director. This position is up to 20 hours per week
- Master’s Degree
- Work experience with students in either secondary or postsecondary environment
- Work experience with students in higher education, assisting postsecondary students with technology support
- Demonstrated proficiency in technology platforms, using PCs, Macs and iPads
- Experience with Blackboard, google platforms, jenzabar, speech to text applications, and notability.
