Position Description and Responsibilities

The Girard School of Business at Merrimack College is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Lecturer in Accounting for undergraduate level Taxes for Fall 2021, Monday/Wednesday 3:30 PM – 5:20 PM and future semesters. All applicants must be available to teach in person. The Fall 2021 semester runs August 30th, 2021 until December 17th, 2021.

Program: Undergraduate

Course: ACC4407 Taxes, 4 credits

This course covers federal income taxation concepts and principles primarily for individuals and corporations. Income recognition, deductions, tax calculations, capital gains and losses and tax accounting methods are discussed for various tax reporting entities. Tax differences between corporations, individuals and flow-through entities are covered

Undergraduate courses are taught Monday/Wednesday/Friday between 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM in 1 hour and 15-minute meeting increments; Tuesday/Thursday between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM in 1 hour and 50-minute meeting increments; Monday/Wednesday between 3:30 PM - 5:20 PM, 4:00 PM -5:50 PM and 6:00 PM – 7:50 PM.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in business or related area, Ph.D. preferred. College teaching experience preferred, although related work experience may be considered.

Unless otherwise stated above, this is an on-campus position. This is not a remote or hybrid position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
