Position Description & Responsibilities
The Girard School of Business at Merrimack College is seeking applicants for the position of Adjunct Lecturer in Management for undergraduate level Management Information Systems for Fall 2021, Monday/Wednesday/Friday 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM and future semesters. All applicants must be available to teach in person. The Fall 2021 semester runs August 30th, 2021 until December 17th, 2021.
Course: MGT2110 Management Information Systems, 4 credits
Management Information Systems presents a core of IS principles with which every business student should be familiar. Information technology has become a key component in accomplishing strategic and operational goals in organizations today. It is necessary to understand how a company utilizes information technology to gain its competitive advantage in business. This course is designed to familiarize the student with the fundamental concepts and principles of information systems. Therefore, it focuses on breadth of coverage rather than the depth of any specific IS area. Topics include: the role of IT in organizations, computers and information processing, hardware and software, managing data resources, telecommunications and networks, electronic commerce, security, IS ethics and leading information technologies and applications.
Master’s degree in business or related area, Ph.D. preferred. College teaching experience preferred, although related work experience may be considered.
Undergraduate courses are taught Monday/Wednesday/Friday between 8:00 AM - 3:15 PM in 1 hour and 15-minute meeting increments; Tuesday/Thursday between 8:00AM and 8:00PM in 1 hour and 50-minute meeting increments; Monday/Wednesday between 3:30PM and 5:20PM, 4:00 -5:50 PM and 6:00 – 7:50 PM.

Unless otherwise stated above, this is an on-campus position. This is not a remote or hybrid position as employees are essential in order to provide a fully on-campus, residential college experience for our students and the community.
