Position Overview: The Department of Mathematics at Merrimack College invites applications for an open-ended fulltime, non-tenure-track position in mathematics at the rank of Assistant Instructional Professor starting August 2021. Responsibilities include teaching four courses per semester (16 contact hours) and holding four scheduled office hours per week. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to teach students from a variety of disciplines, including majors in Engineering, Health Sciences, Education, Business, and the Liberal Arts. Teaching with innovative pedagogies is encouraged.
Requirements for the position include:
- A Master’s degree or higher in mathematics, statistics, mathematics education, or a related field, and
- demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level.
Also desired are:
- ability to use technology effectively in the classroom;
- demonstrated interest in and experience with innovative pedagogies; and
- experience with diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in STEM and beyond.
