Position Overview: Merrimack College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor appointment in the Department of Political Science and Public Policy beginning in Fall 2020.  The position will support both the Political Science Department and International Studies Program, with the potential to work with other interdisciplinary programs and our graduate program in Public Affairs.


The successful candidate will be expected to teach our quantitative Research Methods course as well as relevant courses in politics and public policy, based on expertise. The candidate will also be expected to develop additional courses to complement existing undergraduate curriculum.

Teaching load is three courses per semester.

Qualifications: Areas of expertise must include both public policy and quantitative research methodology. Areas of public policy specialization might include, but are not limited to, urban policy, environmental policy, or electoral policy. Expertise in research methods must include ability to teach relevant software, such as SPSS, GIS, Tableau, R, etc. A demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, research, and service is essential. PhD in Political Science, Public Policy, or related field is required at time of appointment.
