Position Overview: Merrimack College seeks a results-orientated individual to join the Division of Enrollment Management as Associate Director of Admission. Under the direction of the Director of Admission for First Year Recruitment, the Associate Director provides exemplary leadership in the supervision of undergraduate admission staff directly responsible for the recruitment, application evaluation, decision making and admission programs for domestic first-year recruitment.  

The Associate Director will be directly involved in the planning and execution of recruitment strategies to recruit and enroll domestic first year students. This includes specific oversight of special cohort programs including Honors, Promise, Compass and Athletics. S/he will ensure that all activities support the institution’s mission and strategic plan, and are properly planned, executed and assessed. S/he will be a strong supporter of professional development for the counseling staff and ensure that staff are well-trained and provide outstanding customer service.  

The Associate Director will assist with the development of state¬≠ of-the-art marketing collateral and on and off-campus programs as well as leverage technology to support recruitment activities. S/he will serve on the Admission Committee. The Associate Director will be responsible for managing a recruitment territory including implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan for prospective students, families, counselors, alumni, and other constituents, application evaluation and other admission programs in support of the recruitment goals for the territory.

Responsibilities:  

  • Provides exemplary leadership in the supervision of undergraduate admission staff directly responsible for the recruitment, application evaluation, decision making and admission programs for domestic first-year recruitment 
  • Participate in the planning and execution of recruitment strategies to recruit and enroll domestic first-vear students 
  • Ensure that all recruitment activities support the institution’s mission and strategic plan, and are properly planned, executed and assessed 
  • Build effective professional working relationships with people at all levels across the campus, who are involved in recruitment, enrollment and retention of new undergraduate students 
  • Ensure that admission staff are well-trained and provide outstanding customer service. 
  • Manage a recruitment territory including implementing a comprehensive recruitment plan for prospective students, families, counselors, alumni, and other constituents, application evaluation and other admission programs in support of the recruitment goals for the territory. 
  • Communicate effectively with prospective students, their families and other constituents regarding all aspects of admission. 
  • Speak publicly to individuals and groups at on and off campus events about Merrimack 
  • Share responsibility for meeting institutional enrollment goals. 
  • Actively contributes to a positive office welfare  
  • Participate in all signature admission events including Academic Preview Day, Open House and Admitted Student Day.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in undergraduate admission, preferably with supervisory experience.  
  • Demonstrated experience delivering exception customer service to a diverse array of customer  
  • Experience with Slate CRM and applicant management system preferred. 
  • Willingness to travel, sometimes extensively, both domestically and internationally.  
  • Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed. 
  • Valid U.S. Driving license and U.S. Passport.
