Position Overview: The School of Health Sciences at Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Assistant Dean of Administration and Finance to join our newly established School, to begin immediately.
The School of Health Sciences consists of diverse undergraduate and graduate academic programs, state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, deep community partnerships, and multiple funded research initiatives from the National Institutes of Health, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, New Balance Foundation, Cummings Foundation, and more.The School of Health Sciences serves over 600 students majoring in six undergraduate programs including Bachelor of Science in Health Science, Public Health, Nursing, Nutritional Science, Exercise Science and Rehabilitation Science. The School also has rapidly expanding graduate programs with over 120 students in Health and Wellness Management, Exercise and Sport Science, Community Health Education and Athletic Training. In addition, the School of Health Sciences will be expanding its graduate offerings to include two online programs in Healthcare Analytics and Health and Wellness Management. O’Reilly Hall is the current home to the School of Health Sciences with construction underway to build a nursing center, which will include an expansive simulation and clinical education center.
Responsibilities: The Assistant Dean supports the Dean with all administrative and financial operations of the School of Health Sciences. This includes leadership and oversight of undergraduate academic advising; facility planning and operations; articulation agreements with other institutions; budget development and management for the entire School; and grants and contracts administration and oversight. Other key responsibilities of this position include supporting the Dean on strategic development and growth of new initiatives of the School.
- Master’s degree or higher in business administration, health sciences, higher education, or related field
- 8+ years of related professional experience and management
- Knowledge of organizational management, financial management, operations management, understanding of academic program administration and field of health sciences, leadership and management experience
