Position Overview: The Merrimack College Department of English invites applications to teach First-Year Writing as a full-time non-tenure track faculty member beginning with the fall 2020 semester. Responsibilities include teaching four writing courses per semester with each section capped at 18 students. The appointment term is one year with the possibility of renewal.
Introduction to College Writing is the college’s mandatory academic writing course that requires instructors to use They Say/I Say: The Moves That Matter in Academic Writing along with a reader or set of readings of their choice.
Experience teaching ESL and ELL is required. We seek candidates with specialization in these areas as the position, in part, will require teaching first-year writing courses reserved for international students.
Requirements: Ph.D. or Master of Arts in English or Composition and Rhetoric, with college-level teaching experience.
