The Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice in the Winston School of Education and Social Policy invites applications for a tenure-track position starting in Academic Year 2023-24. The CCJ Department has a focus on addressing crime and inequality, offering a B.A. and an M.S. in Criminology and Criminal Justice as well as an M.S. and a Certified Municipal Police Training Committee (MPTC) Police Academy Program. The CCJ Department is committed to fostering research, applied practice, and mentoring students.

- Teach undergraduate courses and/or upper-level undergraduate/graduate courses.
- Maintain a strong research program in areas of expertise; experience in funded research preferred.
- Actively involve undergraduate and graduate students in your research program.
- Sustain a record of quality, peer-reviewed scholarship; pursue external grant opportunities to support the development and growth of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice.
- Hold office hours at times that provide appropriate access to students.
- Provide service to the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, the Winston School of Education and Social Policy, Merrimack College and the broader community.
Candidates should possess a Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or a related field. A minimum of 1-3 years teaching experience in the higher education field. A strong research agenda in area(s) of Criminology specialization; experience in funded research is expected of all candidates. Strong verbal/written communication skills are essential. Additionally, the ability to foster an environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion is expected of all Merrimack community members.
