Position Overview:  Reporting to the Office of Digital Services, the Website Manager is a member of the Marketing Communications team and is responsible for executing and managing day-to- day functions of Merrimack College’s website. With a focus on user experience, the Website Manager will provide daily management for the college’s content management system (cms), manage cms workflow processes, make copy and design updates, monitor SEO performance, create digital content, and regularly run reports. This individual will work successfully with the Marketing Communications team to support undergraduate and graduate marketing efforts and with campus partners to implement digital solutions with a focus on excellent customer service.

  • Support copy and content development to keep the Merrimack website the best user experience for prospective students, students and parents
  • Foster strong relationships with colleagues throughout the Merrimack community to assist with their website needs
  • Serve as administrator for the website workflow system to review proposed content changes and facilitate any follow-up conversations or additional information gathering required before publishing pages
  • Create and manage timelines for website projects
  • Conduct monthly content management system classes for campus content owners focused on best practices for writing for the web, using the cms and SEO basics.
  • Use google analytics and other tools to monitor the effectiveness of the College’s website and to run KPI reports
  • Monitor SEO performance
  • Research and implement new technology and features to enhance user experience and support goals of the Merrimack website
  • Monitor and ensure website usability, compatibility and visual consistency across commonly used browsers and overall mobile experience
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Communications team to implement campaign tracking codes to track effectiveness of various marketing campaigns and efforts
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3 years experience working in a content management system
  • Programming skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Knowledge of Google webmaster tools
  • Strong attention to detail, flexible, and deadline oriented
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, collaboration, and customer service skills
  • Familiarity with front/back-end development concepts and functions
  • Experience with a variety of content management systems (Wordpress, Drupal, etc.)
  • A creative eye and working knowledge of Photoshop
  • Exceptional writing skills and understanding of writing for the web
  • A passion for user experience and learning new trends in the digital space
