Wellness Peer Educators

Our History:

We, the Wellness Peer Educators, are a group of student volunteers who facilitate workshops & host programs about health issues to the campus community.

The WPEs are housed in the Office of Wellness Education, under the Division of Mission & Student Affairs.

In 2016, the first cohort of WPEs were recruited and trained in the beginning of Spring 2017. This new program brings an exciting leadership opportunity to the Merrimack community, but also new opportunities for collaboration. Together with Wellness Education, we have rolled out a new workshop- From Surviving to Thriving, expanded our events and programming, and made partnerships with students and staff across campus.

Who We Are:

  • Two Lead Peer Educators, guided by the Graduate Fellows of the Office of Wellness Education
  • 10-20 Wellness Peer Educators
    • Undergraduate students
    • Diverse identities & backgrounds
    • Diverse academic interests
    • All contribute 6-8 hours- if not more- of WPE volunteer work per month (i.e. facilitating workshops, sitting on committees, etc.)
