Merrimack College offers two critical core programs in environmental studies and sustainability and environmental science that provide academic and research dimensions to the Center for Sustainability and the Environment.
Faculty from a wide range of academic programs across the college also contribute to teaching environmentally and sustainability based courses in our environmental curriculum. Our affiliated faculty come from all five schools and have a wide range of interests.
We work closely with and provide support for, faculty and students engaged across a wide range of environmental inquiry at Merrimack. Many of these projects are linked to courses in the environmental curriculum. These include projects focused on:
- Watershed research
- Greenhouse plant research
- Wildlife habitat studies
- Environmental lectures and speaker series
The Center provides support for a number of both campus and community-based sustainability initiatives, including:
- Campus gardening
- Sweeps Week
- Energy-efficiency initiatives
- Campus Green Team
- Environmental film series
- Sustainable Merrimack Mini-Grants Program
