The Dean’s Forum
Also known as “The Dean’s Lunch Group,” this monthly gathering creates an opportunity for a select group of freshmen to connect with deans, associate deans, vice provosts and the provost for intellectual exchange.
The Dean’s Forum is typically held during the fall semester. Merrimack College students have a unique opportunity to engage with faculty and administrators to further their intellectually rich academic experiences
About The Forum
- The conversations center on contemporary life and the pursuit of wisdom, and often take place around a shared meal or experience.
- They are designed to offer a stimulating and provocative atmosphere to accentuate the academic experience during the first semester.
- Conversations might focus on the role of education in life, career and professional development, service to the greater good and living a life with meaning.
Invited freshmen will be enrolled in one of the forums and the first meeting will take place during fall Orientation. The gatherings take place outside the regular course schedule and they are not a requirement. While this is not a class for a grade or credits, it will provide students with an invaluable opportunity to engage with an additional mentor at Merrimack and with peers seeking a more interactive experience at college.
