Building Your First-Semester Schedule
Freshman Year Schedule Details
Merrimack College takes an individualized approach to creating your freshman year schedule. Find the details of how the process works below.
Welcome to Merrimack College! The Academic Success Center is excited to work on your first semester schedule that not only meets your academic needs, but is also manageable as a new student transitioning to college life.
Academic Interest Form
The registration process for incoming freshmen begins when you complete your Academic Interest Form, which will be available after April 16. The form is found on MyMack. Please note that you must activate your Merrimack email address before logging in to complete this form. This form is very important because it allows us to see what course of study you wish to pursue at Merrimack, as well as where your other academic interests lie. The Academic Interest Form will also collect any information about Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) exam scores or college credits that you have earned throughout high school. You should also send this documentation to Undergraduate Admission.
When filling out the Academic Interest Form, it is important that you select any and all courses that you would be interested in taking, as this will give us more options when building your schedule. Please only fill out the form with the program of study in which you were admitted at Merrimack College. If you have any questions regarding your current major, please contact Undergraduate Admission (firstname.lastname@example.org, 978-837-5100 ext.5) or contact your admissions counselor. If you have decided that you would like to change your major, please fill out the Academic Interest Form to reflect your new interest and contact the Undergraduate Admission to request a change of major. Please note that the deadline for completing the Academic Interest Form is Friday, May 18.
Should you have any questions regarding the Academic Interest Form, please contact us at 978-837-5754 or email@example.com.
Another key component to building your academic schedule are your Math and Foreign Language Placement Test scores. Both the Math and Foreign Language Placement Tests are available on Blackboard. These exams must be completed before we can create your schedule. The deadline for completion of the placement exams is May 14. If you have any questions regarding the placement tests, please contact us at 978-837-5754 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Reviewing Your Schedule
You will be notified when your schedule is complete and ready for review. You will receive instructions on how to access your schedule through MyMack. Though it is unlikely that you will need to make any adjustments, you may contact the Academic Success Center at any time to discuss your schedule.
The Academic Success Center staff will be available to answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to contact us at any time. We are excited to welcome you to Merrimack!
