Peer Mentor Program
The First-Year Experience Program offers meaningful student opportunities that cultivate leadership and team-building skills.
We offer two paid leadership positions per year; students of all academic disciplines are encouraged to apply. The mentor selection process occurs annually in January.
FYE Mentor Coordinators
First-Year Experience mentor coordinators help to oversee 47 FYE mentors and assist in the planning, development and implementation of the First-Year Experience program. Coordinators also help to plan and promote events; support iTunes U courses and staff training; and serve as a contact for incoming students over the summer. These are full-year, paid positions.
FYE Mentors
First-Year Experience mentors work in conjunction with faculty and staff instructors to provide support, mentoring and logistical assistance to roughly 20 first-year students throughout the fall semester. Responsibilities include co-facilitating FYE weekly classes, helping with campus events and maintaining email correspondence with students. Mentors and instructors work as a team to facilitate class discussions ranging from academic to social topics. These are semester-long paid positions.
See You in January
All FYE mentor positions have been filled for the 2017-18 academic year. Check back in December for application information for 2018-19 positions.
