The Architecture Major

Interested in the collaborative design of structures and sites? Merrimack’s B.S. in Architecture offers an education that balances creative studio design with technical explorations of the professional practices, systems and innovations that will shape the future.

What You'll Study

Learn both hand and digital drawing and modeling. Examine the technical, environmental and social foundations of architecture through courses in building systems and professional practice as well as community-engaged design. Learn to design and build your unique vision with a focus on real-world impact.

the Human Condition

ART 2245

This course explores core questions about architecture and its intrinsic links to design, engineering and sustainability. It re-orients the conversation about architecture towards core issues of ethics and the community.

Professional Practice & Adaptive Reuse

ARC 3020

This third-year architectural design studio allows students to work with design firm partners to complete a redesign and adaptive reuse of an existing structure. This course allows students to put what they’ve learned into real life application.
