The Department of Humanities combines classic fields of inquiry with modern, real-world skills that are marketable in the workforce today. As a student, you will have the flexibility to select from a wide range of majors or combined majors, including our new low-cost Bachelor of Arts in Humanities, or even create a personalized degree program.
Merrimack’s new B.A. in Humanities allows students to combine a concentration in a traditional humanities discipline with transferrable job skills that will prepare them for a wide range of careers. The annual tuition is just $17,000 (excluding fees, room and board), which is 48% less than the average U.S. private institution tuition in 2024.
As a close-knit community, we get to know every student, helping them see connections between what they learn and the career options available to them.
We help students master critical thinking, communicate their ideas and arguments clearly, understand diversity, equity, and inclusion, and develop cultural competency to make them desirable in a 21st century job market.
Hands-on learning through internship, co-op, fieldwork, or practicum opportunities.
