In this course, students will use financial and economic analysis to study a wide variety of issues affecting the sport industry including player contract structures, methods of determining team valuation, the effects of free agency and the collective bargaining processes on player salaries.

Sport Marketing

Students will explore unique aspects of the sport industry, marketing to sport consumers and consider the unique challenges facing sport marketers, most notably a lack of control over the core product. Topics include promotion, event sponsorship, consumer behavior and brand management. 

Legal Environment of Sports

This course examines the legal issues that arise from the areas of amateur and professional sports. Areas of study include, but are not limited to: constitutions and legal enactments, policy making in sport management, case law related to administrative, constitutional, contract, labor and product liability.
