Our Unique Offerings

As a Catholic college, Merrimack has a long tradition of interfaith relations. The center continues that heritage, serving thousands of students, faculty and friends of the college. Our recent offerings include:

  • The nation’s only undergraduate academic program in Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations.
  • Seminars in Spain, Morocco and Algeria to study interfaith history and contemporary challenges.
  • Campus programs that connect students and young adults from different religions and cultures.
  • Eight-day summer immersion in the Interfaith Youth Initiative service program.
  • Annual lectures by renowned Jewish, Christian and Muslim scholars.

The center uniquely prepares our students for the opportunities and challenges of a diverse and pluralistic society. In the summers of 2010, 2011, 2012 and 2013, we provided an interfaith leadership immersion experience to 12 of our students minoring in Jewish-Christian-Muslim Relations.

In 2012, Maria Haseeb, Iqra Iftikhar and Anna Ndamba participated in the Interfaith Youth Initiative Summer Institute at Brandeis University. While there, they attended workshops on spiritual practices, interfaith identity, peacemaking and leadership skills; walked for justice, peace and the environment; and attended religious services of various faith traditions. The leadership and dialogue skills they developed are enriching our campus as they put their new skills into action.

We appreciate and value your support. Your giving at any level will help us continue our work. Thank you for your contribution!
