What is Sport Analytics?
Sport Analytics is a major that teaches you how to collect, understand and utilize player statistics and consumer behavior.
What You’ll Learn
As a sport analytics major, you’ll graduate with a wide-ranging span of knowledge and experience to integrate you properly into the professional field of sport analytics.
As a sport analytics major, you will:
- help sports organizations understand their consumer’s behavior through the utilization of data sets.
- apply the skills you learn from class to your internship responsibilities— the Lucey Center for Business Advising will help you get one!
- strengthen your understanding of data and analysis, and how to apply this to the real world.
- gain skills in management, game strategy, problem-solving and statistical analysis.
Career Options
What can you do with a sport analytics degree? As an integrative discipline, sport analytics allows you to engage in a diverse array of opportunities following graduation. Many students enter graduate school to pursue a master’s degree. Others start their sport analytics careers in television, research institutions, professional sports teams, and broadcasting.
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, overall employment in entertainment and sports occupations is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations from 2022 to 2032.
