What is Sport Analytics?

Sport Analytics is a major that teaches you how to collect, understand and utilize player statistics and consumer behavior.

As a sport analytics major, you will:

  • help sports organizations understand their consumer’s behavior through the utilization of data sets.
  • apply the skills you learn from class to your internship responsibilities— the Lucey Center for Business Advising will help you get one!
  • strengthen your understanding of data and analysis, and how to apply this to the real world.
  • gain skills in management, game strategy, problem-solving and statistical analysis.

Many students enter graduate school to pursue a master’s degree. Others start their sport analytics careers in television, research institutions, professional sports teams, and broadcasting.
