Minor in Communication Abilities Across the Lifespan

The minor in Communication Abilities Across the Lifespan at Merrimack College offers an in-depth study of language acquisition, speech skills, and hearing and swallowing abilities.

Students will participate in professional observation and experiential learning which prepares them to enter the field of speech-language pathology.

Curriculum

Students in this minor will take the following classes:

Introduction to Communication Sciences and Disorders (HDE 2200)
Phonetics (HDE 3200)
Language Acquisition and Literacy Development (EDU 4500)
Anatomy and Physiology for Speech, Language, Hearing and Swallowing (HDE 3700)
Introduction or Audiology (HDE 3500) or Speech and Hearing Science (HDE 3900)
Professional Observation and Experience (HDE 4010)
