Undergraduate Housing and Meal Plan

Undergraduate Housing/Placement & Meal Plan

Residence and dining halls are a vital part of life at Merrimack College. Here is a little information
about what to expect and some buzz-words you’ll hear on campus.

Undergrad Housing/Placement

New, first-year student residents typically live in:

  • Deegan Hall
  • Ash Centre
  • Monican Centre

In addition to submission of a housing deposit, you must complete a housing questionnaire. The housing questionnaire is required and is available on your MackTasks checklist.

Each student receives:

  • a bed
  • a desk
  • a chair
  • a wardrobe or a built-in closet

Mattresses are twin extra long (36 x 80 x 6 inches). In upper-class buildings that have suites or apartments, there is furniture in the common room.

International Student Support will provide those living on campus with the following items:

  • a welcome basket with small toiletries
  • bed linens and a pillow
  • towels and a facecloth
  • a blanket

Res Life Buzzwords

Resident Assistant (RA)

A current, upperclass student who lives in your building. They work with other students and professional staff members to facilitate and develop a community environment that will contribute to the intellectual, spiritual, social, and cultural growth of students living in that residence hall.

Residence Hall

Various locations throughout campus where students live. These are locations where students get to know one another and participate in various programming events.

Common Room

A space located in each residence hall where students can meet, study and talk. Many programs and activities are held here to meet other residents and make friends!

Dining Hall

While Sparky’s in the Sakowich Center is one of the central locations for dining on campus, there is an ever-expanding list of venues for eating on campus at Merrimack. (We eat well!) Meals can be purchased individually, or you can enroll in a meal plan. Venues like Sparky’s are open all day when the college is in session.
