Discover Program

Discover Program

Merrimack College’s Discover Program provides academic advising for students who have not yet declared a major. We do not push you into a specific major but encourage you to discover the direction you want to pursue in your life and career.

Support for Undeclared Majors

Did you know that 75 percent of American college students either start their college academic journey as undeclared or have changed their major?

There is no need to be concerned if you don’t know what you want to major in yet. The Discover Program is designed to provide support to Merrimack undeclared students to ensure graduation in four years.

How does the Discover Program work?

When you enroll as an Undeclared Liberal Arts major you are automatically part of the Discover Program and have access to all of our exploration support services. We treat your undeclared status as its own major and you get all the same support and resources you’d have if you were a declared major.

What is an undeclared major? You are considered an Undeclared Arts & Sciences major at Merrimack if you:

  1. don’t know what you would like to major in or
  2. you have some sense of what you want to major in but are still not 100% sure
