Curriculum

The Master of Arts in Spiritual Direction consists of 32 credit hours.

Required Core Courses (4 four-credit courses)

  • RTS5010- Introduction to Spirituality
  • RTS5020- Christian Spirituality
  • RTS5030- Spirituality and Social Justice
  • RTS5040- Spirituality in a Religiously Diverse World

Seminar in the Spiritual Life (RTS5600)

  • An eight-credit intensive two-semester seminar addressing basic skills and ethics that are foundational for the spiritual life

Practicum in Spiritual Direction (RTS5650)

  • An eight-credit intensive two-semester practicum under supervision
  • Required for the M.A. in Spiritual Direction (an option for the M.A. in Spirituality)

Credit Summary:
