Intersections: Student Journal
The Interdisciplinary Institute is sponsoring an interdisciplinary student (graduate and undergraduate) journal. The working title is: Intersections: Merrimack College Student Interdisciplinary Journal (IMCSJ)
Intersections, under the guidance of the Advisory Board of the Interdisciplinary Institute, features the interdisciplinary scholarship and research of Merrimack graduate and undergraduate students. Interdisciplinary work integrates knowledge, methods, and modes of thinking drawn from two or more disciplines. Submissions can include scholarship, research, and creative work. Students further contribute to the journal by acting as co-editors (one graduate and one undergraduate), by evaluating submissions, by contributing design, and by serving as members of the editorial board. Submissions receive evaluations by at least one faculty member and at least one students. All student work is mentored by a faculty member, whose contribution is acknowledged either as co-author or as mentor as determined by the faculty member.
The inaugural issue of IMCSIJ is scheduled for May 1, 2018. We need your help as faculty to identify and mentor students to submit work to the journal and to serve as co-editors and editorial board members. Please see the attached CFP, cover letter and submission guidelines. Submissions ideally will be given to the student’s faculty mentor by December 15 for review. The deadline for submissions to Intersections is January 20, 2018. For all suggestions and questions please contact, Jane Caputi, Visiting Scholar, firstname.lastname@example.org
*For this inaugural issue, student submissions can be from past semesters, including from students who have graduated.
